Maybelline Color 24 hour Tattoo Eyeshadow

Hey lovelies,
Maybelline recently released a new line of eyeshadows that are marketed as super long-wearing and crease-proof. I was instantly intrigued because eyeshadows never last more than a few hours on my lids without a primer underneath, and they ALWAYS crease. I headed to my local Walgreens to check out the color selection and I was slightly disappointed in the lack of neutral colors available. I only ended up purchasing only one color that was the most neutral of the bunch, Bad to the Bronze. They also had a gold shade which looked nice and a matte taupe one, but it looked too similar to my Groundwork paint pot.

The consistency of the shadow is very creamy, and in my opinion, they're a total dupe for the MAC paint pots, at a third of the price! The shadow applies easily with my finger but I choose to use a flat shadow brush (the one that came with my NAKED palette).

On my bare lids, the shadow wore for about 5 hours without creasing, but it lasted a solid 9 hours without fading. When I applied my Urban Decay Primer Potion under the shadow, it lasted all day without creasing or fading!
I've been wearing this color on my lids a few times a week, especially when I'm in a rush to get out the door because application of the shadow is so quick and easy.
If you're looking for a long-wearing shadow and don't want to shell out the $$ for a MAC paint pot, I highly recommend picking up the Maybelline Color 24 hour shadows. I think I'll pick up a couple of the brighter colors in this line too!

Revlon Lip Butters and swatches!

Hey lovelies,

After reading all about the new lippies from Revlon, I knew I had to get my hands on them! It took awhile to track down the colors I was interested in trying, but I finally managed to. Since my lips are fairly pigmented on their own, I decided to skip the lighter colored Lip Butters and stick to the brighter, more deeply pigmented ones. I ended up purchasing Candy Apple, Tutti Frutti, Raspberry Pie, and Strawberry Shortcake and I am in L-O-V-E! They apply beautifully straight out of the tube and are so moisturizing. The packaging is made from a sturdy plastic so I'm not worried about them breaking during travel or if I slam my make-up bag down (which I would never do!). They last about 3-4 hours on my lip before I need to re-apply, which is average for most lipsticks. The darker colored ones like Candy Apply and Raspberry Pie leave a nice stain on my lips after they have worn off which makes re-application even easier. I think my favorite of the bunch is Strawberry Shortcake, its such a pretty pale pink and great for everyday wear. Candy Apple is a orange-based red and is definitely a bold color. Tutti Frutti is a true coral and great for warm skin tones. Raspberry Pie is a bright fuschia and would work well on both warm and cool skin tones.

The cap is etched on 2/4 sides and partly opaque

Has anyone else tried out these lip butters? What did you think?

FOTD: "Au Natural"

Hey lovelies,

My passport was about to expire so I had to get it renewed, meaning I had to re-take those hideous passport pictures. I HATE passport pictures! I think its ridiculous how you're not able to smile in them, it just makes for a very unattractive photo. So I tried to make up for the fact that I can't smile by putting on some extra make-up. But the problem with that is that you have to look as natural as possible in the picture, meaning no smoky eye and no bold lip. So this was my attempt at being "natural" while trying to sneak in as much make-up as possible.

New Hair Cut!

Hey lovelies,

I finally got a haircut! My hair was getting super long and the ends were no longer looking fresh so I decided to get rid of some inches before spring. I asked my stylist to incorporate lots of well-blended layers and to thicken my fringe but to not make it any shorter than it already was. I'm trying to grow it out to chin-length for something different. My hair looks and feels so much better and I swear I lost two pounds in hair weight!

I don't know why it looks like there's a big chunk of hair missing, I swear its all there!

NOTD: Rose Gold Mani

Hey lovelies,

Just wanted to share my Valentine's Day nails with all of you. Its a glittery rose gold look that sparkles in the sun. The base color is OPI for Sephora "Chest-nuts About You" from their holiday collection and the top color is Revlon's new "Sparkling" top coat. I adore this sparkle polish!

NOTD: Facets of Fuschia

Hey lovelies!
After months and months of searching, I was finally able to snag a bottle of Revlon's Facets of Fuschia polish in Goldsboro, North Carolina of all places! This polish is a total dupe for Deborah Lippman's Bad Romance but at a third of the price! I love a good dupe!
I like to layer this polish over a dark base color on my nails to avoid using multiple coats. This way I can achieve an opaque look without super thick polish.  I love this look so much, I think I'll be wearing it for the rest of the winter!
